As you know, Forrest Mandrich was confirmed as a Director at the last Board Meeting, as you were not in attendance and chose not to vote by proxy, I thought you would be interested in seeing the following report that was submitted by Senior Director Hashi Lebwhol regarding Forrest Mandrich. As I was informed by Senior Director Martingale that I should attempt to keep this report as short as possible, using an extreme economy of words, I will give you the details of the events at the Caern of the Unwashed Child in as brief a form as possible while not glossing over any important details.

A brief history concerning Senior Manager Mandrich:

Before the events at the Caern of the Unwashed Child, Senior Manager Mandrich was performing freelance missions for the Division of Boston. He and his team were specialists in the field of covert and infiltration operations and had made quite a name for themselves with several high profile missions including a raid of the complex at Three Mile Island. His team included a Metis Fianna Philodox named Sees-Flaws-In-The-Jewel, a Glass Walker Ahroun named Stephen Eddington and a Bone Gnawer Theurge named Andrea Rannd. The rumors concerning him and the Bone Gnawer were true incidentally, she was his lover of six years and they made no real attempt to conceal it, making him also in violation of our Charter. However with that background in mind, I will now provide the details about the mission to the Caern of the Unwashed Child.

Michael Huntington Silver-Sword-Of-Gaia, the Silver Fang Alpha of the sept from which Senior Manager Mandrich operated, had received information that indicated that an extremely potent artifact of the Wyrm had been rediscovered by the Black Spiral Dancers of the Caern of the Unwashed Child in the Appalacian Mountains. The artifact in question was named Chujuroc's Tusk, rumored to be a tooth of the Eater-Of-Souls, it is said to have the power to summon and control a Nexus Crawler. Silver-Sword-Of-Gaia believed that if his sept could recover and destroy this artifact that it would be just the thing which would allow him to advance within the Court of King Jonnus Albrecht, perhaps enough to give him his own Duchy. So, he gave Senior Manager Mandrich a contract to obtain and recover this artifact, offering the sum of three million dollars upon completion of the mission. Senior Manager Mandrich accepted the contract on behalf of himself and his team and prepared to infiltrate the Caern.

With the use of Wyrmskins, the team was able to pose as a roving pack of Black Spiral Dancers and through their multitude of skills and talents were able to advance far within the hierarchy of the Caern of the Unwashed Child. However as the records attached to this show (RECORDS DELETED AT THE REQUEST OF SENIOR DIRECTOR MIN DONNER) none of the members of the team ever encountered the Alpha of the Caern until on June 23, they were brought before the Warder of the Caern who informed them that they were going to be brought before the Alpha for judgment and execution. They were brought before the Alpha who as the records show assumed the form of a dirty abused young girl, but seemed to be a channel for the power of the Eater-Of-Souls for when she spoke Senior Manager Mandrich said that it felt as though his soul was being consumed by a "gaping, eternally empty maw, ever-hungering for sustenance". In any case, at this point his recollections seem to become dim and fragmented as the transcript shows, all that is evident is that somehow he and his team were able to obtain the Tusk and his lover gave her life to summon the Nexus Crawler that served as a distraction while he escaped with the remainder of his team and the Tusk. Some time later while they were lost and wounded in the depths of the Applacian wilderness, the girl accompanied by what can only be assumed to be a Malfean being who served the Eater-Of-Souls encountered him and what remained of his team. His recount indicates that the girl assumed control of his mind and made him turn on his team, making him in some manner consume their essence. She then apparently left him, in addition leaving him the Tusk, which it seems that he buried somewhere in that wilderness in which as we all know he wandered through for over seven months until he was encountered by a wandering National Park ranger who helped him return to civilization. As we all know, he isolated himself from the Garou Nation, going so far as to deny that he was a Garou to any who attempted to make contact with him. He spent his resources on five years of extensive psychotherapy until as we all know, a year and a half ago he appeared in the Division of Cincinatti and said that he was ready to resume his duties. From then he has refused all contracts and has declined to discuss any part of his past, relegating himself to his duties as defined by the Directorate of the Gibbous Moon.

The psychological records indicate that the jovial, outgoing, relaxed attitude that he displayed before this Board was simply an act by a talented performer. It would seem that whatever he encountered in that Caern and in the mountains devoured his personality, the essential spark that makes one a person. On the outside he is the very picture of a charming excellent Garou, displaying all of the attitudes and behaviors that one would expect of an Senior Manager, however on the inside he is hollow. A walking void if you will. Though he does not seem to bear the mark of the Wyrm and he seems to serve Gaia in his proper capacity and he is in line for a promotion, my recommendation to this Board is that his promotion be denied and he be placed under close surveillance, perhaps even going so far as to ask for his resignation and submission to a Rite of the Lone Wolf.
