Get of Fenris

Spyder

Many would say her story started when she chose to acknowledge what she was, per tradition. Others, the ones who knoew her, say her life started long before she was accepted by them. Some mentioned her past to undermine her, to make her appear less honorable. Most did it, though, to show just how amazing it was that she succeeded.

Mordecai, a Shadow Lord of mysterious and suspicious ways, saw a young and unknowledgeable Spyder walking down a wyrm-tainted weaver street for what she was. With his slick tounge he convinced her to join him for a meal-drink. There he gained enough of her trust to convince her to come with him and his packmate to a secluded land.

She was then cornered and forced into crinos, and even as she was changing back to her breed form the three garou were attacked. Mordecai was struck unconcious early in the battle by a Black Spiral Dancer. Spyder and his packmate fought on, with Spyder victoriously defeating her first foe. Even then there was no doubt that she was a mighty and glorious warrior. For saving Mordecai's life, he welcomed her into his pack.

Her next battle was one involved in the returning of a caern to Gaia from the clutches of the Wyrm. She fought beside her two packmates and three other honorable Garou. Only four survived: Mordecai, Spyder, and the two who would eventually become Alpha and Ritesmaster, the wise one that they had protected to perform a most powerful rite.

The sept Alpha and Ritesmaster were part of a pack often reffered to as the Alpha pack. Among their number was Grendle Spinecrusher, Warder, and Spyder's only tribemate. For many weeks, Spyder was content to learn from him and assist when able, until in very quick succession she lost the only pack and tribe she had ever known.

Displeased with Grendle's replacement, a Bone Gnawer whom she felt was already too powerful as Alpha of the Guardian pack, Spyder made moves to secure her safety and desired position. She was well aware that a higher ranking Metis who was no longer a Get of Fenris had staked her out to kill. During the time of the new Warder, Spyder had to assume the position of acting Warder on more than one occasion. Her actions didn't go unnoticed by the members of her late mentor's pack, the Alpha pack. She recieved, as a Cliath, the position of Gatekeeper. Her petition into the Alpha pack was accepted.

Despite her accomplishments she was unhappy with herself for lacking rank and so letting a Bone Gnawer have the position that was already hers at heart. When disruption occured, it was most often her that was called for. When the acting Warder, so named by the Warder, failed to act on Spyder's advice, it cost his pack Alpha the position.

The following night she was made Fostern and named Warder, and because she was eligible, Master of Challenges as well. None seemed to mind that she held so many positions or that she was doing so while holding the rank of Fostern.

In due time, Spyder was challenged for the psition of Master of Challenges by Truthsniffer. Spyder, unsure of an appropriate challenge, announced that now was the time for all who wanted the position to let it be known. Four in all stepped forward, two were disqualified for the reasons of not being a member of the sept and for not being Garou. The remaining two fought each other, and Spyder acknowledged the winner by giving him the position.

The following evening was the night of the great battle. Spyder was one of the few of her sept to take part in the back-end stealth assault team. During hte course of the battle Spyder was wounded and the kidnapped. No one knows for certain what happened to her during the hour in which her team battled on without her. Eventually, though, they found her in the labs.

The minions of the wyrm tried to use Spyder as a hostage but she refused to allow her fellow Garou to stop short of their goal. Her team left her and another to die so they would have a chance to escape.

They knew Spyder would understand, but that was unacceptable for one of the team. One that was presumed dead even before Spyder was kidnapped, Justin, the Black Spiral Dancer who had visited her caern with the information that made the attack possible. He gave Spyder and the other an opportunity to survive by sacrificing his life to prevent a nuclear meltdown, but not before an atomic spirit escaped. Spyder sent her companion ahead, and the other Garou fled, knowing it was suicide to stay and fight a spirit of such strength unarmed. That was the last time Spyder was ever seen. Not bad for someone who started out as a prostitute, eh?
